Germany? No Problem!

I have a traveling husband.  I don't say that negatively.  I simply state it as a fact.  Those of you who have husbands that travel know what I mean.  Every month I will inevitably get a call (perhaps two), checking in to see how I am doing, followed by "I need to go to <location> for a couple days next week.  Is that okay?".  What am I going to say?  "No, tell your boss your wife does not think that is a good idea".  Obviously, my only response is "No problem!", even though, sometimes in my head, it is.  Now, he used to travel every week, so once or twice a month is definitely better.  Glass is always half full right?!  But I am not going to lie.  It is hard to spend 4 to 5 days taking care of three kids, working two days, running around the others, spending my nights sipping wine and watching the Bachelorette (don't judge) alone.

That being said, he is the one that had to hop on a red eye Monday to Germany, spending a total of 24 hours in the air and only 36 hours on the ground.  That cannot be fun.  So, I am going to keep my mouth shut, keep my wine fridge stocked and pass the children off to him the second he walks in the door.

On another note, I would so appreciate you taking just a few seconds to cast your vote today!

  1. Oh, I feel for you on the travelling husband. My husband travels all the time for work. His company sends him on location for large-scale civil engineering projects and he will be there sometimes for months. I've pretty much learned to be a "single" mom and take care of everything by myself.
