Moms, Margaritas and Manicures

Every month some neighborhood ladies and I get together for what I like to call "Sanity Check Ins" but the majority might call "Girls Night Out".  Each month, someone else hosts at their home and we drink, eat and do a number of things.  Some months it might be Bunco, another month might be a couple's night (yes, the hubbies get invited sometimes too), or perhaps we all head out for a night on the town.  It always changes and I really look forward to catching my breathe with these ladies.

This month, my friend S and I were hosting so we decided to shake it up a bit with a nail polish exchange.  Have you done one before?  It was so much fun!  Who doesn't love to go home with a new nail polish?  "Cinco de Mayo" was our May theme and we served Lulu B Margaritas, bite size burritos and taquitos, and of course, churros for dessert.  Here are a few pics!

Already prepared, all natural and low calorie.  How can you go wrong?!
The food!
All the colors!

If you are interested in throwing together a similar night for you and your girlfriends, here are a few hints to make it super easy for you!
1. Find the holiday of the month and use that as your theme.  This makes it a no-brainer and your local party store will have everything that you need.
2. Cater when you can.  This bite size menu was put together by a local mexican restaurant at an extremely reasonable price.
3. Get creative.  The sombreros at the top were hiding numbers underneath.  Everyone picked a hat and that was their position in the exchange, plus, no one had done a nail polish exchange before.
4. Make the cocktails easy.  LuLu B margaritas were not only a HUGE hit with everyone, but they allowed us hostesses to actually partake in the festivities instead of slaving over a blender, mixing our own.
5. Don't think too much about it.  Girl's nights are supposed to be fun, not stressful.  In the end, it is the company people enjoy the most.

* Lulu B cocktails let you indulge in a premium premixed cocktail made with natural flavors, and soft on calories and carbs.  LuLu B margaritas were provided to Juggling in Heels for this event but my opinion is 100% my own.  No compensation was provided for this post.
