Get the Look: Jessica Alba at NYFW

New York Fashion Week has come to an end and what an incredible week it was.  From the runway to the street style, there was so much to see and I have done my best to watch shows online and visit numerous sites for all the looks on those who attended.  It really was amazing.

When it came to what people were wearing, there were a number of looks I loved but there was one that instantly caught my eye.  Jessica Alba at Ralph Lauren looked stunning.

  So feminine.
So classy.
So simple.
I just adore it.

Prints and Silk

This Fall I am REALLY into the printed silk pants trend.  There are just too many cute prints out there and they are EXTREMELY comfortable.  I am eyeing the Rebecca Taylor pair on the right for an upcoming night out in LA but I love that J.Crew has created an array of prints that work just as well during the day.  Even though I am not ready for the incredible summer weather to go away, I must admit that I am getting a tad bit excited to see all the Fall collections arrive in stores.

I'm Back!

After 12 hours of travel on Tuesday we are finally home and getting settled back into "real life".  We had such an amazing time in Kauai and I have a ton of photos to share with you but it is going to take some time for me to filter through.

One thing I do have to share with you is what I lived in while on the island.  One of my favorites things about a tropical vacation is that everything becomes more simple, especially what you wear.  The days are spent in bathing suits and cover ups and the nights are spent in simple resort wear.  One look I continued to pull out of the suitcase was white on white.  It is a no brainer on vacation and when worn with some simple gold accessories and sandals, makes for the perfect dinner look.  I mean, who wants to think about what to wear on vacation?  Not me.  I don't want to have to think at all.

The Pleated Maxi

When it comes to wearing something simple yet still looking chic, the pleated maxi skirt tends to be one of my favorites.  Not only do they come in an assortment of colors but everything else you wear can be easy breezy simple and you still look pulled together.  My favorites items to top the skirt are a simple black tank and sandals, along with a denim shirt for when the summer night becomes a bit chilly.  The entire looks reads effortless.

Get the Look: Leather and Camo for Spring

Even though the weather is warming up, I am just not ready to get rid of my camo jacket and leather. I absolutely love how this look brings in leather shorts, a casual white shirt and lightweight scarf to make it Spring-ready.

Black and Blue: Get the Look

via

Black and blue and a little pop of color around the eyes.

I love this look for Spring because it brings in just enough color to get excited for warmer weather but with the long sleeves and black, it has not let go of winter completely.  Put together with some great sandals, this is an incredibly easy look to wear during the day without feeling like you are still in the "same old" jeans.

Effortlessly Chic: Get the Look

If there was ever a look that I would call my staple it is the "black blazer, skinny jeans and black heels" look.  I tend to wear it so often that I actually mentioned to my babysitter once that the items of clothing are different, even if it looks like I wear the exact same thing every time she comes over.  It is about the easiest thing to put together and always looks effortlessly chic.

The look even made it as far as Paris Fashion Week...

What I also love about this look is that it provides the perfect opportunity to combine high priced items with more affordable options.  Sometimes it may be a beautiful silk blouse underneath your blazer and the next time it could be a simple tank.  Your handbag could be Chanel but your heels were picked up at Aldo.  The possibilities are endless.
