What I Wore

Over the past week I was running around in "it is still summer" weather, attending blogging events and trying to keep up with school, athletic games and birthday parties.  A week in the life of a mother right?  Even though I need to be comfortable and casual, I still want to feel put together (especially when I have to get out of the car for preschool drop off and pick up).  I think that sometimes we feel that style means sacrificing comfort but with these looks, that was definitely not the case.

Camp Spooky

This was not how we started off the day.  It looked a little more like this.

Last year was our first year ever participating in Knott's Berry Farm's Camp Spooky and there was no question in the kids mind that if we were invited to attend again, we would absolutely be there.  Lucky for us we were and early Sunday morning we ventured out to partake in costume parties, cookie decorating, trick-or-treating, face painting and of course, rides.

The Star Wars theme was replaced by Harry Potter and Baby Girl insisted on Rupunzel, which she wore for about 10 minutes and then quickly removed.  Oh well, maybe next year.

If you are interested in attending Camp Spooky, the event runs from October 6 through October 28 and is part of your general admission ticket.  It is a great family-friendly, non-scary way to kick off the Halloween season!

The best part of the day was taking all three kids on my favorite ride when I was little.
Who doesn't love the Log Ride?!

* The Juggling in Heels family was provided free admission to Knott's Berry Farm to participate in this event.

Crossing Fingers

This is a photo that Baby Girl captured on my iPhone last Sunday morning.
One handed no less!

Speaking of Baby Girl, today we go in to see if her broken finger is healed and she is ready to take off her splint.  I am REALLY hoping everything is fine and her little hand is back to normal.  I cannot tell you HOW HARD it has been to keep this girl from hurting herself even further.  Apparently stitches and a broken finger do not keep her from jumping off couches, wrestling with her brothers, trying to jump into pools or racing her friends.  I have said "No!" more than I would like to admit over the past few weeks in an attempt to keep her from the ER again.  I have found my daredevil.  Typical third child right?

I am really looking forward to this weekend and just laying low as we do not have any plans both Friday and Saturday night.  Yes we will be running around during the day but I am extremely excited to get to bed at a reasonable hour.  With the holidays fast approaching our weekends are filling up with events and this is going to be one of the few weekends we can indulge in laziness at night for the rest of the year.  Time to prepare for the "Most Wonderful Time of the Year!"

If you are not following me on Facebook yet, I am now posting "What I Wore" photos so come visit by clicking here!

I hope you all have a relaxing weekend as well.

Summer in Fall

Come on Mother Nature!
I am DYING to wear my birthday present from the hubby but it has been just too hot in So Cal!
Patterson J. Kincaid Luman Jersey-Lined Leather Blazer
While I sit in a tank and skirt while the air conditioning is blowing, I am SO ANXIOUS to put on sweaters, boots, jeans and jackets!

What about you?
Do you have any new Fall items you are waiting to wear but the weather is not cooperating?

Mystery Inc.

October means Halloween.
Halloween means costumes.
Until my Oldest was 5, I picked out the costumes.
That's over now.
But at least I got this.

I DIE.
It is and will continue to be my favorite costume selection of all time.

This year the kids are running with a Princess and Harry Potter theme.
What about you?
Have you picked a costume yet?

I personally have not but have told the children that mommy and daddy WILL NOT be repeating last year, even though they keep asking for Bacon and Eggs.

Paris Street Style

Style and glamour are not reserved for just the shows at Paris Fashion week but for all those in attendance as well.

Put on your sunglasses

I warned you.  These suckers are bright.

In my birthday post I made a quick comment that I was going to do a triathlon but this is my official announcement.

I am going to do a triathlon next Spring.

There it is.
Now I have to do it because I told all of you and that would just be embarrassing if I didn't follow through.  Plus, I now have kick-ass shoes to run in.

I must confess that I have never done one and I am slightly TERRIFIED of the entire thing.

I decided to do a triathlon for the same reason I started this blog.  I feel like I so often have all these ideas of things that I am "going to do" but never end up doing them.  Well I am tired of that.  I started this blog a year ago having no idea what I was doing and have loved writing it ever since.  Time to jump in to goal number two.

So far, I am working out 4 days a week with running 3 miles two days a week, biking 16 miles one day and then swimming 1.25 miles the final day.  I am having a blast and feel more and more empowered each time I increase my distances.  It has only been 6 weeks since I have started doing all of this and I definitely need to be able to handle a lot more than I am currently doing, but I will get there.  I am giving myself and my team, (yes, I have talked some friends into being crazy with me, which is making this training really fun, believe it or not) until December to really be in our grove with all three sports.  After the New Year's it is full on training and putting it all together.  We are not sure which triathlon we are going to do yet but I definitely have my sight set on the one in Hawaii in March because if I am going to kill myself doing all of this, at least I can do it on a tropical island right?

I will definitely keep you all posted on how the training is going, even if you do not want to hear about it, because it is going to hold me accountable to keep going.  Plus, perhaps I motivate a few of you to get out there and try something you have never done before.

Wish me luck!
