Diana's Bag

Yesterday I spent the afternoon among an array of beautiful Tod's handbags while attending an event hosted by Tod's, in support of the Camino Center Auxiliary, an organization that I have been involved with for some time (remember the fashion show and Marni event?).  Along with the famous "D-Styling" collection, in honor of Princess Diana, the estate was also adorn with many of Tod's signature handbags and shoes.  All attendees sipped champagne, shopped and supported an incredible center.  Not too shabby for a Wednesday.

Thank you Tod's for supporting such an amazing organization.

Brunch at Marni

I love brunch.
I love Marni.
I love them both more when they are together.

On Tuesday my friend S and I attended the Marni Brunch and Fashion Show at their South Coast Plaza boutique in support of the Camino Health Center Auxiliary.  This is the same organization that is putting on the fashion show benefit I mentioned prior that I will be attending later this month.

Beyond the clothes being gorgeous (I could have walked out with every thing in the boutique if my wallet would have allowed), I truly enjoyed my time chatting with some pretty amazing women, all the while sipping on mimosas and indulging in a three course meal provided by the Quattro Cafe.  After the meal shopping began with 10% of all purchases going back to the Camino Center.  Win win for everyone right?!

Spending a Tuesday dressed up in a fabulous boutique was SUCH a nice change from my normal Tuesday routine of running a million errands in workout clothes.  I could definitely use more brunches and fashion shows in my life.

"Making a Difference"

Last year was my first Camino Health Center Fashion Show and Luncheon and I remember saying that day that I would absolutely be there again next year.  And now here we are.

The 28th Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon benefitting the Camino Health Center is next month I am doing all I can to build awareness for this great event.  It will be held Tuesday, November 20th at the Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel.  South Coast Plaza sponsors this event and they pull out all the stops when it comes to producing a New York fashion show in Orange County.  Not only are designers such as Tory Burch, Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karen, and Marni (just to name a few) showcased, the silent auction might be the best one I have ever seen, flooded with donations from numerous boutiques in South Coast Plaza.  Add some champagne, the food, fab raffle prizes and the Ritz and you have quite the afternoon!

When I was asked to attend this event last year, I knew very little about the Camino Health Center and the Foundation that supports it.  Of course I knew that it had the reputation of an incredible clinic in San Juan Capistrano, providing free services to those who cannot afford insurance or, due to the insurance they have, are not able to financially afford the speciality services they need.  But that was about it.  Over the past year I have increased my involvement with both the Camino Health Center Auxiliary and the Mission Hospital Foundation and I continue to be touched by the people that work so hard to help others.

If you are looking to attend an amazing event while supporting the Orange County community, you can purchase tickets by clicking here.  I would love to see you there!

The 27th Annual Camino Health Center Luncheon and Fashion Show

As mentioned in a previous post, last Tuesday I attended the 27th Annual Camino Health Center Luncheon and Fashion Show at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel.  The event was sponsored by South Coast Plaza and showcased designers such as Carolina Herrera, Donna Karen, ESCADA, MARNI and St. John (just to name a few).  The event raised $320,000 for the Camino Health Center, a fully-licensed, community-based clinic in San Juan Capistrano.  The Mission Foundation did a phenomenal job of hosting 590 men and women (yes, a very large event) and I had an incredible time mingling, bidding, eating and obsessing over some of my favorite designers.  Thank you so much to the Mission Foundation for having me and I am already looking forward to next year's event!

The event proceeds will support Mission500, a philanthropic effort led by the Mission Hospital Foundation to raise $500 million for the current and future needs of Mission Hospital and its ministries, such as the Camino Health Center.  So far, $150 million has been raised.  If you are interested in contributing to this effort or are interested in learning more about the Foundation, please contact the Foundation at (949)364-7783.

Fashion with a Cause

A few weeks ago I was asked to cover the Camino Health Center Auxiliary's 27th annual Fashion Show and luncheon at the Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel on Tuesday, November 22, 2011.  I was beyond thrilled to be asked to be involved in this event.  Not only because of some incredible fashion (CH Carolina Herrera, Donna Karen, ESCADA, Oscar de la Renta, and David Yurman, just to name a few), but because the funds go directly to the Camino Center, a fully licensed, community based clinic in San Juan Capistrano.  This center provides over 120,000 annual patient care visits and is an incredible asset to the community.

The luncheon and New York-Style fashion show is sponsored and produced by South Coast Plaza.  The event will also feature hundreds of silent auction items and five luxury opportunity drawings each worth nearly $5,000 a piece from Bally, MARNI, Oscar de la Renta, and Judy Klemik.  As you can see, this event is HUGE!

I absolutely love when the fashion world comes together to give back.  I am really looking forward to seeing this show come together, potentially bidding on some silent auction items (I am sure my husband is already sweating over this) and seeing how much this event raises this year.  If I could only decide what I want to wear....

If you are interested in information on this event, or to purchase tickets, please contact Mission Hospital Foundation at (949)364-7783.

And don't worry, I will be posting on the fabulous event so there will be plenty of pictures!
