Continuing to make a difference

I know that I have mentioned before that one of my sponsors, Deal Blade continues to support local charities when you purchase one of their daily deals, but I have yet to really highlight the charities they are supporting, along with the organizations they are developing new and creative ideas with to help support their cause.

Since launching in May, Deal Blade has supported the following organizations through sales on their site:

Not only has Deal Blade provided donations to these organizations, they have been working closely with them in order to help promote their causes while marketing Deal Blade.  The next step for them is to begin supporting fundraisers for local schools, providing students the opportunity to sell across the web instead of going door to door with catalogs, all the while raising money for their schools.

What I love about this company is that even though Deal Blade is focused on continued growth within the Orange County market place, they have not lost sight of their intention to give back.  I know I always say it but I truly do have a passion for giving to others and I appreciate that Deal Blade has incorporated this into their sales and make it easy for people to donate while shopping for themselves.

It really is a no-brainer right?

Happy Shopping (and Giving) Everyone!

Sponsor Highlight: Deal Blade

Without fail, no matter how often I think I plug in my iPhone, it always seems to run out of batteries.  Between using it for the gym, texting, chatting on the phone, letting the kids play with it and responding to emails, there is never enough power to go around.  It usually ends with me running to plug it in, with hopes that it charges as quickly as possible so I can return to using it.

Apparently numerous people have this problem because Simultalk has developed a solar iPhone case which allows you to double your battery life by charging your phone anywhere that there is sunlight.  This would not only come in handy in my life of always running around but also in the case of an emergency and power outages (hey, what can I say, I have anxiety and live in Southern California where rolling blackouts and earthquakes are a reality).

This product normally runs $79 but thanks to Deal Blade, you can pick this item up from now until August 31st for only $47.  Being that this is roughly the normal price of many standard iPhone cases with no charging capabilities, it really is a great deal.

Even better, you do not have to be in Orange County to purchase this.  Simply visit Deal Blade by clicking here and you will see it on the right as a side deal.

As you may recall from previous posts, Deal Blade donates a portion of all sales to different charities.  Normally, each deal is associated with a specific charity but what I love about this deal is that you get to choose the charity it goes to.  Even better!

Sponsor Highlight: Deal Blade

Happy Monday Everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  We are flying home from Chicago today and I am SO sad that it is already time to leave.  We had such a great time.  But more on the trip later!

This month's sponsor highlight for Deal Blade is focused on a fabulous deal that they have launching TODAY.

I have mentioned in a previous post that I have a slight addiction to caffeine.  More specifically, to coffee.  My cup of coffee is one of my favorite parts of the morning.  During the school year I am rushed to make my cup, throw it into a travel mug and take it with me while I drive everyone to school. The summer is completely different.  I am able to enjoy my coffee while watching the news before the kids wake up.  It is my quiet moment and I savor it.

So what better deal to share with you than a deal for Pasquini coffee while ALSO supporting Susan G. Komen OC, the Orange County affiliate to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  Did you forget that Deal Blade gives a portion of their sales to local charities?  If you did, I have just reminded you.

Here is a little video on the deal.

Pasquini Coffee has staked its claim as a high quality coffee in Los Angeles for some time and can currently be found around Los Angeles in many high profile locations such as the Beverly Hills hotel, Disneyland resorts and hotels, and the J. Paul Getty Museum.  It has also made special appearances in shows and movies such as Friends, Frasier, Pretty Woman and You Got Mail.  The deal offers three, 17 ounce bags for only $18.

If you are not aware of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure (which I am sure is not many of you), it is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people and ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures.  It is an amazing organization and I feel that at some point in our lives, we will all be touched be them, whether it is for our mother, our sister, our friend or ourselves.

Sponsor Highlight: Deal Blade

As many of you may have recently noticed, I have opened up my blog to sponsors.  This is a first for me and I am so happy to have them join this little Juggling in Heels family (perhaps not a family because it is just me....).  ANYWAY, I cannot wait to start sharing a little bit about these sponsors with you!

Today's highlight is on DealBlade, who lives by the motto, "it is better to give than to receive...but what if you could do both?".  This is my kind of thinking!

Deal Blade is an Orange County based site that provides discounts off of local restaurants, bars, spas, theaters, retailers and more at up to 90% off retail.  I know what you are thinking.  You are thinking that you are already a part of sites like this so how is it different?   I came prepared with an answer.  The difference is the profits of your purchase go right back to the charities, non-profits and schools that you love!  See, different!

The site launched only 4 weeks ago and will continue to expand over time from Orange County to other cities throughout the West.  A deal is posted weekly and the voucher is mailed to you within one hour of purchasing!  Plus, your giving back to the community.  No brainer.

I am sure at this point your final question is, what if my charity, non-profit or school is not listed?  Again, I have the answer.  If you do not see your the organization you would like to have participate in DealBlade, all you need to do is click here, complete the form and they will get your organization set up for you!

I have mentioned numerous times on this blog that I love when the retail world and the giving world come together and I am so excited Deal Blade has embraced this idea.  Check them out here and sign yourself up!
