Ball Park

Weekends = Baseball
Hello Spring!

The best part is that getting ready for a game is about as easy as it gets.
Tee, cut offs, hat and sneakers and you are ready to go!

You know, there are two beds in this room.

My boys both have their own beds, in the same room.  Yes, they share.  And they love it.  When we were faced with the dilemma of having our fourth bedroom downstairs and I was prego with number 3, we asked and they quickly agreed that they wanted to share a room.  So, we went bed shopping.  They had fun picking out the beds themselves.  And they got double beds.  Because hey, their boys, and I figured, why not get them more space?  Then, when it came to bedding, I also let them pick that out.  Stars Wars: The Clone Wars is what they wanted.  Believe me, I was totally against it but whatever, they wanted it (it still bothers me).  So, why, after all that work to create two large beds in a room with everything they wanted, do I walk into this every night?

Hey boys, if you wanted to sleep in the same bed, I could have saved money on a bed AND sheets.  Also, why did you want a double bed if you did not care about space?  Finally, how is it that you both sleep the exact same way?  Is that genetic?

Date Night With My Boys

Last week my three favorite boys and I headed down to San Diego for the Padres vs. Giants game.  We had a phenomenal time and even though we were exhausted the next day, it was all worth it.  I feel sort of bad that Baby Girl did not go with us but not that bad because I was actually able to enjoy myself and not run after a toddler the entire time!  Here are some pics (but please realize I did not have my super fab camera with me so these are from my "point and shoot" and Iphone - clearly not as fabulous as they could have been).

Thanks Hubby for the awesome seats!

Best part?  The Giants won!  Did you realize I was not in any of those?  That is because I do a fantastic job capturing moments while my husband is not so great at making sure I make it into a picture.  We are working on this.

It's Sandal Time!: Children edition

Since I just spent some time this week talking about sandals I love for me, I thought I would also highlight some sandals that I love for the kids.

Luckily Baby Girl is starting to walk (slowly but surely), so the justification for purchasing more shoes for her is absolutely there.  I was recently introduced to Salt Water sandals by Hoy shoes.

They are ADORABLE.  I like this style as well.

The best part of these sandals is that they are designed to be worn in and out of water and have brass buckles that won't rust when they get wet.  If you are like me who have children who will run directly into the water (pool, beach, sprinklers) without taking off their shoes, these are perfect!

They have a ton of colors available and are easy to find on Zappos for free shipping!

Now for the boys.  Back to simple.  They want flip flops.  That is all.  They are huge fans of Rainbow flip flops (aren't we all??).

If you haven't worn them before, they are the perfect flip flop and tend to last a lifetime.  My husband and I have always been fans but it was very exciting when they came out for kids.  If they are not in their rainbows, they are also fans of Havaianas.

They picked out this pair because it has a Brazil flag on it and they are VERY interested in world soccer on television, Brazil being one of their favorites.

The Paper Mama Photo Challenge: Family

I have seen on a couple bloggers enter a photo contest at The Paper Mama and thought to myself what a cute idea.  For that reason, I thought, why the hell not give it a try.  The theme of this photo challenge is family and instantly a photo of my boys and I at Disneyland came to mind.

There are a number of reasons I love this photo.  First of all, it is me and my boys.

Secondly, we are all three holding hands.  This NEVER happens anymore.  Sadly, as they grow up, I am coming to the realization that they just do not need me as much anymore.  There were days when I wished that they would be less clingy.  That perhaps I could go a day without them hanging on my legs and begging to be carried.  Now, I feel lucky when they reach out for my hand or want to cuddle on the couch to watch a show.  It is amazing how fast it changed.  Luckily I still have a little one who needs this attention but what happens when that is gone?

Third, they are holding hands.  On a day to day basis, I am constantly dealing with the arguing, fighting, tattle telling of two brothers.  It could drive anyone insane.  But I know they love each other and pictures like this show that in the end, they are there for each other.

Finally, it is at Disneyland and who doesn't love a great picture from Disneyland!

Love for the Little Ones: Comfy Clothes

One thing I have learned after having three children is that they could give a crap what their clothes look like.  They simply want to wear things that are comfortable.  Now, this completely goes against everything I believe, as this mommy will walk around in the most uncomfortable shoes imaginable if they look good.  BUT, I have given in and have decided that if they want it, they can have it.

The boys have been easy.  They want shorts, but not just any shorts.  They want what they call, "cozy" shorts.  The item that my boys constantly flock to are these Gap Basketball shorts.

They LOVE them.  Any time I send them upstairs to dress themselves, these are what they come down in.  I get it.  Boys want no effort.  They have them in every color available.  My only problem now is trying to get them to put t-shirts on that actually match the bottom.  A Celtics green t-shirt with grey and red bottoms is NOT what I had in mind (why do boys not care about matching!).

Girls has been a little harder.  Yes, a 1 year old wants comfort, but as the mother of only one girl, I want her to be overly cute at all times.  Sounds completely selfish....and it is.  What are you going to do?  Baby Girl and I have reached an agreement with Tea Collection dresses, leggings and rompers.

I just ADORE their clothes and they are extremely soft and moveable.  They wash great and allow Baby Girl to move around the entire house without feeling confined.  Also, I love that they are feminine without pink everywhere.  Truth be told, I am just not a pink person.  So, she gets comfort and I get super cute.  Win Win!

And The Oscar Goes To......

My boys are confused when I say it is time for bed.  My understanding is that this means they will obediently walk upstairs and brush their teeth.  They, on the other hand, have interpreted this phrase as a time to break out in their Hollywood best.  And the performances?  They would put any actor to shame.  Some of my favorites are:

The "Mommy my arm hurts so bad (kneeling over, grabbing his arm) that I think my stomach hurts from it (now grabbing his stomach) and I just cannot go to bed"

The "Mommy my eyes hurt so bad (with obsessively rubbing them until they are bloodshot) when I close them that I just cannot fall asleep right now"

The "Mommy I am so thirsty I must get up (tears of thirst begin to form) and get something to drink.  And I am so hungry now too because dinner was so long ago."

And my absolute favorite?

The, complete collapse to the floor, bawling, all while screaming "I'M NOT TIRED!"
